The Nine O'Clock Gun is a historic cannon which has been firing in Stanley Park since 1898.
Nine O'Clock Gun didn't start as a brand - it started as a passion.
In 1996, Rich began designing apparel inspired by culture that shaped him - sports, hip-hop and 90's streetwear. It wasn't just about clothing. It was about being part of something. About contributing his own style to a culture he admired. Even then, the mindset was simple: I can do this...and maybe even do it better.
By 1999, that passion became a reality with Cheetah Sport, a field hockey brand. It was Rich's first real step into building something of his own - designing, producing and seeing people wear his ideas. It planted a seed for everything tha followed.
In 2008, the creative drive evolved into Nine O'Clock Gun designs - inspired by local heritage, outdoor culture and a growing appreciation for timeless, simple graphics. The designs leaned into storytelling, place and identity.
By 2012, the focus sharpened with the introduction o Nine O'Clock Gun hats. Small batch. Local inspired. Clean, heritage driven design. The hats became a signature - blending outdoors, history and lifestyle into something uniquely West Coast.
From 2012 to 2025, the brand continued to evolve - dozens of design, limited releases and a growing identity rooted in local culture, cabin life and outdoor living. Through it all, the excitement never faded. Every design still carried the same energy as that first sketch back in 1996.
Now in 2026, the next chapter begins: CABIN GOODS and THURSDAY LEAGUE GOLF designs.
